FAQ — Classes & Registration
Frequently Asked Questions
🎵 Which class is right for my child?
We place children by age first, experience second:
- Baby (3–14 months) — Music & Movement Baby. A parent or caregiver attends with your baby.
- Walking (1–2 years) — Music & Movement Walking. Parent attends.
- 2–3 years — Music & Movement Toddler. Parent attends.
- 3–4 years — Music & Movement Pre-K. Children attend independently (no parent in class).
- 4–6 years — Music Reading & Games Level 1. No parent required.
- 5–7 years — Music Reading & Games Level 2. No parent required.
If your child is in an overlap zone (e.g. age 4–6), we're happy to help you choose — just contact us!
👨👩👧 Do parents need to stay in class?
It depends on the age group:
- With parent: Baby (3–14 mths), Walking (1–2 yrs), Toddler (2–3 yrs)
- Without parent: Pre-K (3–4 yrs), Music Reading & Games (4–7 yrs), all instrument lessons
Parents of independent classes are welcome to wait in our lobby.
🎓 What about older or more experienced children?
For children aged 4 and up, we consider both age and musical experience. A 6-year-old with no prior music exposure may start in Music Reading & Games L1, while a musically experienced 5-year-old may be ready for L2. When in doubt, contact us — we'll recommend the right fit after a brief chat.
🔄 How does the term progression work?
We run three terms per year: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each term is designed to stand alone — you can join at any term and feel right at home. At the same time, each term builds progressively on the last, introducing new songs, dances, and music reading concepts. Families who attend all three terms experience the fullest musical journey, but every term is a complete and enriching experience on its own.
📅 Can we join mid-term?
Yes! We offer pro-rated pricing so you only pay for the lessons remaining in the term. Simply select your start week when registering, or contact us and we'll calculate the right price for you.
🎯 How do trial lessons work?
Trials are available for instrument lessons:
- 3 consecutive weeks · 30 minutes · $35/class · $105 total
- No admin fee for trials
- If you continue after the trial, the $105 is prorated off your full term registration
Group class trials may be available — contact us to arrange a visit.
🎹 What instruments do you offer?
We offer private one-on-one lessons in Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, and Ukulele. Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions.
